Ryan Bush provides Washing Buddy as a commercial iOS app. This policy explains what information the app uses, what stays on your device, and when information is sent to a service provider.
Information Stored on Your Device
Your washing history, active loads, indoor drying methods, electricity price, washing line settings, last known location for background weather updates, and drying calibration data are stored on your device. Washing Buddy does not require an account, and this information is not uploaded to a Washing Buddy account or database.
Location and Weather
If you grant location permission, Washing Buddy uses your location to request local forecasts from Apple WeatherKit and calculate outdoor drying estimates. You can refuse or withdraw location access in iOS Settings. Indoor drying estimates work without location access.
Washing Buddy does not include your precise location in its custom analytics events. Apple explains that WeatherKit location information is used to provide forecasts and is not tracked between requests. Usage Analytics
Washing Buddy uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand which features are useful and to improve drying estimates. This may include app screens and feature interactions, app and device information, an app-instance identifier, approximate location derived by Google, weather conditions used in a drying calculation, laundry category, washing line settings, drying score, and estimated drying result.
We do not send your name, email address, precise device location, custom indoor method names, electricity price, or estimated indoor running cost in custom analytics events. Analytics information is used to operate, understand, and improve Washing Buddy; it is not used by us to build a profile that directly identifies you.
Google processes analytics data on our behalf and may process it in countries outside your own. Learn more in Firebase Privacy and Security and the Google Privacy Policy.
Advertising
The free version of Washing Buddy may display ads provided by Google Mobile Ads. Google may process information such as device and app identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad interactions, and device information to deliver, measure, and protect ads. Where required, iOS asks for permission before the app allows tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. You can change tracking permission in iOS Settings. Google’s use of this information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Purchases
App Store purchases are processed by Apple. Washing Buddy also uses RevenueCat to load subscription offers, confirm purchases, restore purchases, and determine whether Pro features are available. RevenueCat may process an app user identifier, purchase and subscription status, product information, app version, device information, and related technical data. Feedback and Support
If you choose to send feedback, a bug report, support request, or feature suggestion in the app, the title and message you enter are sent through a Cloudflare Worker and saved as a GitHub issue so we can review and respond to it. The visibility of that issue follows the repository’s GitHub settings.
For bug reports and support requests, you can also choose to include diagnostic information. The app shows this information before submission and lets you turn it off. Diagnostics may include the app and iOS versions, device model, current weather, items currently drying and their times, drying estimates, forecast details, and washing line settings. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in the text you submit.
Feedback submissions are processed by Cloudflare and GitHub under their respective privacy policies. Feedback is kept for as long as it is useful for support and product improvement, or until it is deleted. You may ask us to delete a submission by contacting us.
Notifications and Live Activities
If you enable notifications or Live Activities, Washing Buddy uses Apple system services to show drying updates and rain warnings. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Your Choices and Rights
You can control location, notification, and Live Activity permissions in iOS Settings. You can remove information stored locally by deleting it in the app or deleting the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold. Contact us to make a request.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information sent by the app, but no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Washing Buddy changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
